Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) assist and monitor medical patients under the supervision of the registered nurses (RNs).
Education
The LPN needs to finish 1-2 years of training in a recognized certified diploma program and enter practice after he or she has secured a license.
Job Functions
- Performs as a team member in all clinical settings
- Participates and contributes to the process of creating care plans
- Reviews and interprets the plan of care to fit the needs of clients
- Administers therapeutic massage, monitors vital signs, keeps patient medical records, etc.
